Walter-Hallstein programme
The Walter-Hallstein programme of the Baden-Württemberg scholarship is the European line of the scholarship programme. It supports pan-European exchange and inter-European collaboration on the administrative level.
The programme is directed towards:
- Students in European-related degree programmes at universities in Baden-Württemberg
- Students in European-related degree programmes from other European countries
- Young professionals working in administrative bodies (such as city halls, district administrations, or ministries) in other European countries
Funding is provided for training or international internships in a Baden-Württemberg administration (for university students from other European countries) or in an administrative body in another European country (for students at Baden-Württemberg universities).

Administrative bodies
The programme is also directed towards administrative bodies from Baden-Württemberg that want to expand and reinforce their networks and partnerships with international administrative bodies throughout the EU. Municipalities, districts, cities, and other public administrative bodies from Baden-Württemberg can apply. Funding is granted to cooperative projects with administrative bodies from other European countries in order to build and expand networks and partnerships.

from 5,000 euros to a maximum of 20,000 euros / year
APPLICATION
You can apply to the Walter-Hallstein programme in Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM once per year. However, there will be no call for proposals for the Walter Hallstein programme in spring 2025. News about the program line will be published here in due time.
Important info
Applications are submitted via the BWS-World portal. Applications cannot be submitted directly to the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.
